Frequently Asked Questions

We understand how difficult it is to trust anyone when it comes to finding the best buyer for your precious possessions. To make sure that Safe Gold is the best buyer for your item(s), we suggest you have a look at our frequently asked questions. We hope these FAQs resolve any concerns you may have.

What do you buy?
We buy any unwanted/broken gold, silver, platinum or palladium items and have managed to secure top position amongst the gold buyers in Ontario. We deal in jewellery, coins, bars, flatware, gold, silver and offer instant cash for them. Other than these precious metals, we do accept estate pieces, antiques, dental gold and custom ornaments.
What process do you follow when buying valuables?
Forget the rigorous selling process that most companies make you go through. Our process is as easy as 1-2-3. Simply bring your valuables to our store, we will then test and weigh everything right in front of you and offer you cash on the spot.
Do you buy diamonds?
Yes we do! Restrictions do apply, please contact us.
How much is my gold, silver, platinum or palladium worth?

The cash value of your precious metals is based upon the following factors:

  • The existing market price of the precious metal(s).
  • The karat content or purity of your precious metal(s).
  • The actual weight of your item(s) in grams.
Can you remove my gemstones?

We have no problem with removing the gemstones at absolutely no charge. Stones can be removed if they are prong-set and are larger than 2.0 millimeters. We do not remove baguettes, chips, pave, bezel or channel set stones.

Do you buy plated or filled jewellery?

Unfortunately, we do not buy anything that is plated or filled.

How am I paid?

If you accept our offer, we are happy to pay in cash.

Do I need to book an appointment?

No, we happily take walk-ins.

Do you sell coins and bullion?

Yes, you can purchase gold and silver bullion. Just call ahead to check the inventory and your items will be ready for you on arrival.

Do you accept used or broken jewellery?

Yes, we buy jewellery that is used or broken.

What testing methods do you use for evaluating the value of gold?

We start the evaluation with looking for the stamps that mark the karat value. The testers start with acid/scratch test followed by electronic test and X-ray fluorescence scan.
